Job Summary

Jefferson Community & Technical College is accepting applications for a Ready to Work Coordinator. This position will work collaboratively with Jefferson’s existing RTW coordinators to support eligible students referred through DCBS, helping them navigate educational, employment, and community resources. Periodic travel to Jefferson’s six campuses and throughout the College’s eight-county service area is required.

Job Duties:

Ready to Work (RTW) is a partnership between the Kentucky Community & Technical College System (KCTCS) and the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, Department for Community Based Services (DCBS). The program supports eligible students as they pursue their educational, career, and employment goals.

Grant Funded Position:
• Funding for Ready to Work is provided by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services Department for Community Based Services.
• Continuing employment is contingent upon the receipt of grant funding for the next fiscal year.

The Duties and Responsibilities of this Position Include:
• Assess students for RTW eligibility and develop individualized educational, career, and employment plans.
• Provide ongoing case management, coaching, and referrals to college and community resources.
• Recruit and develop worksites for RTW-funded work-study placements; coordinate paid and unpaid work experiences; and maintain ongoing relationships with worksite supervisors.
• Coordinate the hiring, onboarding, supervision, and ongoing monitoring of RTW-funded work-study students, including student payroll, program documentation, records, and required reporting.
• Plan and facilitate workshops, training, outreach, and recruitment activities to engage eligible students.
• Build and maintain partnerships with DCBS, Adult Education, community organizations, employers, and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with KCTCS RTW professionals and Jefferson faculty and staff to support student success.
• Support individuals pursuing a General Educational Development (GED) credential or Adult High School credential and their transition to postsecondary education and employment.
• Perform other duties related to the RTW program and student success as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or two to three years of related professional experience, or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Travel may be required on a limited basis. Attendance at national and state-level meetings may be required.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in case management, student support, workforce development, social services, higher education, or a related field.
• Experience developing partnerships with community organizations, employers, or social service agencies.
• Demonstrated commitment to student success, with the ability to build supportive relationships and help students navigate barriers.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, approachable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, student-centered environment.
• Proficiency with technology and willingness to learn program-specific systems.
• Flexibility to accommodate student and program needs.
• Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and community partners
