Job Summary

We are looking for a First-Year Experience (FYE) Teaching Assistant/Student Ambassador. This position will report to an FYE Instructor teaching an in-person class at ECTC.

Job Duties:

Duties and Responsibilities
• Act as a Student Support for an in-person FYE 105 course
• Come up with weekly discussion board topics and manage posts and conversations with students in Blackboard.
• Create weekly conversation questions and manage student concerns in the Blackboard “student cafe,” and deliver at least one class presentation on a relevant topic, as agreed upon with the instructor.
• Help answer student questions about class assignments.
• Support Student Success HUB staff as needed, particularly during campus events.
• Plan to attend each in-person FYE class session.
o Course dates: October 19-December 13, 2026
o Meeting times: Monday & Wednesday from 10:00 am to 11:15 am (EST)

Minimum Qualifications:

Job Qualifications
• Must have completed and passed FYE 105.
• Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.
• Must have plans to transfer to another college or university following time at ECTC.
• Must be available for in-person courses
