Job Duties

To provide services which ensure a fair, equitable and quality working and learning environment for all employees and members of the university community, to proactively and creatively provide all customers with superior, innovation, and cost-effective programs and services, to continuously seek and supply all customers with the opportunities and resources needed to enhance their knowledge, skills, and abilities so they may better support the mission of the university. To provide program support and services which ensures a campus culture of care, respect, inclusion, acceptance, and tolerance through coordination and implementation of a highly collaborative male initiative program which includes intentional strategies to support retention and persistence efforts, build and promote a strong sense of belonging and community, and maximize the student experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Familiarity with college student development theory, minority student development theory, and college student retention theory. Must be able to prioritize workload, display attentiveness to detail, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have exceptional interpersonal/human relation skills. Must have excellent organizational/planning skills and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must have the ability to work with a diverse population of students, staff, and faculty. Must possess critical thinking, problem solving, and crisis management skills. Must be able to function well under extreme pressure and multiple deadlines. Must have experience working within a college student housing environment and preferably, experience working with learning communities. . Education, Experience, and Licensure, Certification required for entry into position: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a human services, education, history, or related field. Previous experience in developing and implementing a program model to facilitate learning and personal development of college students.

Additional Considerations

A Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Education or related field is preferred. At least 2 years’ experience working with college students strongly preferred.
