Job Duties
The Department of Political Science at Norfolk State University is looking for a candidate with a specialization in Public Administration. This is a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. The successful candidate would be required to teach courses face-face and online in public administration, personnel administration, organizational theory and behavior, and statistical analysis. The successful candidate may also be required to supervise the department’s internship program. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
Responsibilities Include:
Develop instructional materials, administer internship programs, engage in research/scholarship and grantsmanship, and create an educational environment that affirms commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Minimum Qualifications
• Ph.D. in Public Administration or related field. A terminal degree is required at the time of employment.
• Experience and/or evidence of teaching and scholarly activity in one or more of the areas highlighted in the Job Description.
• Commitment to, or evidence of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Additional Considerations
• Experience in teaching Research Methods and Statistics.
• Experience in grantsmanship and research that is commensurate with employment at the rank of assistant or associate professor.
• Demonstrated experience in student advisement.
• Experience administering internships.
• Experience in online teaching, preferably using Blackboard.
• Ability to teach a capstone course. preference will be given to candidates with experience in using LMS, notably Blackboard.
