Job Duties

The Department of Visual and Performing Arts/Division of Music invites candidates to apply for a nine¬ month tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Voice. Review of applications begins immediately, and the position remains open until filled. The Division of Music offers two undergraduate degrees - B.M. in Music Education and B.M. in Music Media. The graduate program offers an M.M. with concentrations in Theory/Composition, Performance, and Music Education.

The successful candidate will:
Deliver quality teaching for voice major, voice minor, and other undergraduate and
graduate classes students, mentoring students, demonstrate personal integrity and excellent communication/interpersonal skills, serve the University on all levels and engage in scholarship.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• A terminal degree in voice (required at the time of application)
• Dedication to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service
• Teaching experience in voice
Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching Vocal Pedagogy, Opera, and/or Language Diction
• One to three years of experience teaching college level
• Knowledge and/or experience in African-American music
• Experience with online course delivery systems (i.e., Blackboard and Canvas)
