Job Duties
Organizational Objective
To support the University's mission by applying technical knowledge of specific programs associated with procurement applications; procure routine goods and services at a reasonable cost, in a timely and professional manner, administering service support to the end users and vendors in compliance with state laws and regulation, and University policies and procedures. To make day-to-day business transactions routine.
Purpose of Position
Serve as the Department's Office Administrative Manager and process routine procurements that do not normally require competition; support departmental goals and objectives; perform technical research and work with the Director on program assessments, eVA Lead responsible for the University’s day-to-day eVA functions including working with the eVA Security Officer and the Account Executive to ensure proper agency setup and user access is maintained. Respond to basic inquiries from university staff and the general public and provide advice/consultation in accordance with state procurement law, University procedures, and best practices. Independently develop, manage, and analyze automated databases; compile spreadsheets, research data, and statistical charts; manage department budgets, and develop reports. As required, provide administrative and research support to the Director, Associate Director, Procurement Managers, and staff in day-to-day operations and processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Significant knowledge and experience with spreadsheets and database software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
- Proficient in the use of standard office equipment including personal computers.
- Experience in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing accordingly. Ability to work independently and to communicate in a highly professional manner, both verbally and in writing. Knowledge and experience with conducting departmental audits.
- Knowledge and experience with conducting methods of quantitative research and analysis and writing work-related reports.
- Experience improving business processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience with automated financial systems and e-procurement
- Knowledge and experience with governmental procurement law, policies, and procedures
