Job Duties
The Office of the Executive Secretary of the Supreme Court of Virginia is seeking applicants for a Technical Analyst/IT Specialist position. This position will assist with project documentation, task management and some system testing. The position will also be involved in areas of system administration to internal applications to the Web Development Specialized Apps (WDSA) team in the Department of Judicial Information Technology (DJIT).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be highly motivated with analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in a multi-tasking environment. Primary duties include: Creating/updating system documentation/requirements and assisting with system testing. Backing up team members and assisting with internally developed systems as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• Detail oriented with a technical aptitude
• Well-developed analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects at any given point in time.
• Proven experience in gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements and use cases.
• Experience in creating comprehensive and clear documentation.
• Proficiency in modeling techniques, requirements gathering, and documentation.
• Ability to conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops to elicit requirements.
• Experience in translating business requirements into detailed system specifications.
• Ability to create process flow diagrams, data flow diagrams, and other relevant documentation.
• Ability to plan, schedule and conduct meetings, as well as draft agendas and meeting minutes.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project managers and development teams.
• Familiarity with collaboration tools and project management software.
• Ability to interact and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff
• Ability to preform system testing along with generating test cases.
• Associates Degree or 5 years’ experience in an IT field.
Additional Considerations
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
• Understanding of the systems development life cycle (SDLC).
• Understanding of quality assurance processes and methodologies.
• Familiarity with project management concepts and practices.
• Preferred Technology knowledge: Microsoft Office, Visio, JIRA, SharePoint, Box, ServiceNow (System Admin)
