Job Duties
Provide guidance for a statewide electronic audit system and/or paper audit files to aid DOC units and administration in preparation for audits such as ACA and Community Residential Programs contract with the Virginia Department of Corrections. Maintain current audit standards and documentation and provide training and technical assistance to DOC operating units preparing for electronic and paper file audits. Prior to ACA and Community Residential Program audits, conduct a comprehensive onsite assessment of facility/program operations by observing actual practices and reviewing samplings of necessary documentation. Provide technical assistance to ensure actual practices are in accordance with written procedures, ACA standards, and Community Residential Program standards to include life, health, and safety. Further, conduct unannounced inspections of state correctional facilities, CCAPs, probation & parole district offices, and community residential programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of information technology systems, audit standards and protocols, and DOC operating procedures. Good interpersonal oral and written skills. Knowledge of criminal justice systems and Virginia DOC correctional policies and procedures and applicable regulatory requirements. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to work as a team player.
Additional Considerations
College or university degree, or equivalent experience and training.
