Organizational Objective: To seek, pursue, solicit and manage funding opportunities for all research and other sponsored program activities university-wide for both pre-award and post-award. Purpose of Position: Provide high-level administrative support by conducting research; reviewing, editing and approving PI/PD technical reports; handling information requests: performing pre-award and post-award administrative functions; preparing statistical reports and handling information requests. Will support the work of the Director, Assistant Director, Compliance Officer and Grants and Contract Administrators. |

Minimum Qualifications:* | 1. Ensure that the Office of Sponsored Programs operates at optimum efficiency in a professional business environment setting. 2. Assist with processing all grant, contract, memoranda of agreement, memoranda of understanding and proposals as required by sponsors, the University, the Commonwealth of Virginia, the General Counsel, and OSP standards 3. Independently responds to internal (NSU) and external (sponsors and customers) inquiries, directing and redirecting inquiries as appropriate, securing signatures and other approvals and following up with needed documentation, also as appropriate. 4. Independently conducts monthly reconciliations for various OSP systems and data including but not limited to: training attempts and completions, and certification completions, both for internal, external and paid services, and prepares a written detailed monthly update for the Director and Assistant Director. 5. Provides technical, administrative and program assistance for a wide range of OSP functions and deliverables as assigned. 6. Bachelor’s Degree is required and is preferred in relevant area and extensive demonstrable hands-on, or transferable experience in the area of sponsored programs. 7. Knowledge of federal, state and/or community funding sources and mechanisms 8. Knowledge and understanding of agreements, guidelines, and policies. Extensive experience in electronic proposal, reports and data submissions, are a must. 9. Must have a working knowledge of related federal and state rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as well as the ability to interpret those of a variety of sponsoring agencies. |
