Job Duties

Enhances public safety of the citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia and Department of Corrections staff and inmates, by meeting re-entry objectives and by providing effective security, programming, custody and control of adult inmates in a major correctional facility.

Position Maintains locking systems which provide security for facility. Efficient repair and maintenance of all locks within the facility. Provide necessary repair and preventive maintenance for locking system and devices at this facility.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high School or equivalent. Considerable knowledge in the repair and maintenance of locks and locking systems. Skilled in the use of a variety of hand and power tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints related to locking systems.

Additional Considerations

Certificate of completion in lock repair or other related building trades area.
