As an Exhibit Technician, your passion for creating dynamic and engaging experiences will thrive. You will play an essential role in ensuring that our interactive exhibits and museum fixtures are always in top condition, ready to captivate and inspire our guests. In addition, you will be responsible for the daily activation and maintenance of our interactive exhibits, ensuring they deliver the best possible experience for visitors. Your skills in repair and fabrication will come into play as you construct custom fixtures, build traveling exhibits, and work around our full spectrum fabrication facility, which includes a full woodworking shop, industrial CNC, and metal fabrication capabilities.

You will collaborate with our Technology department to engage with cutting-edge software, hardware, electronics, and robotics. You will have the opportunity to troubleshoot and maintain emerging technologies that make our exhibits truly unique. Additionally, you will assist in the setup and breakdown of traveling exhibits, ensuring seamless transitions and consistently high-quality presentations for exhibits from around the world. Minimum Qualifications

Desirable candidate will have basic knowledge of Windows, Raspberry Pi, and other computer systems, including startup, shutdown, and troubleshooting procedures, to effectively support the technology integrated into many of the Museum’s exhibits. Knowledge of repair techniques and proficiency in the use of power and hand tools is essential. A solid understanding of construction materials, such as wood, plastics, metals, and paint, as well as related fabrication methods, is also essential. Ability to be professional, responsible, and possess a strong work ethic of diligence. This role requires physical activity and a collaborative, team-oriented approach. Candidates must also be available to work on a rotating weekend schedule, with occasional evening and holiday shifts as needed.

Additional Considerations

Experience in technology, fabrication, SketchUp, and a museum exhibits environment is a plus.
