Job Duties

Under the general direction of the Work Control Manager within the Department of Facilities Management, this position will manage the store operations and requisitions materials. Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex store or warehouse problems and issues, such as distribution, quality control, inventory control, and safety regulations.

The duties and tasks reflect substantial variety and complexity ranging from replenishing inventory, quality control checks, inventory control, receiving, shipping, and distribution functions. In addition, skill in use, care, and safety of store or warehouse equipment, including forklifts.

Adapts procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet special needs.

Extensive experience in general storeroom or warehouse inventory control functions.

Manages store operations for all maintenance materials and services ordered in accordance with material order form and associated work orders. All orders must meet the deadlines as required by the work order, excluding documented factors beyond the employee’s control.

Daily review and timely response to all messages requesting information related to the purchase of supplies and services. Contacting vendors for current pricing and availability of supplies and or services and providing this information to appropriate individuals.

Maintain accurate records of inventory in the storeroom and items stored in the University’s Warehouse. Ensure that disbursements of items from both sites are recorded in the appropriate inventory records.

Conduct and prepare weekly inventory report of supplies and forward it to area supervisors. Prepare monthly inventories and forward them to area managers.

 Assist accountant in conducting the semiannual inventory of all Facilities Management owned and controlled equipment.

Regularly operate motor vehicles to pick up supplies and equipment from local vendors and deliver to campus without the violation of university, local or state motor vehicle regulations.

Provide administrative support and perform other duties as required and directed.

Minimum Qualifications

1. High school diploma and at least 5 years of experience in a store /warehouse environment.
2. Experience with office equipment including Copier, Scanner, Fax, Shredder, Mail Machine, and software Microsoft Office.
3. Attention to detail is necessary.

4. Valid Driver’s License

5. Operation of Forklift

 

Additional Considerations

1. In addition to meeting the minimum requirement, the preferred candidate will have a college degree in a related field, at least 1 year of supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and professional experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
