Job Duties

The Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking to hire a Motor Carrier Program Specialist for the MC/Commercial Intrastate Operations Department.
This position performs all Operating Authority and EZ Fleet / EZ REG services including first DMV contact, trouble shooting, training customers to use the systems and process transactions, maintenance and auditing records and termination of accounts. This position provides information and education for all UCR and FMCSA inquiries, as well as oversees and processes UCR payments to DMV. This position is responsible for providing direction, education and information to HVUT customers, as well as processing all HVUT submissions that are required by the IRS. Works collaboratively with other team members, field office and call center staff to ensure that timely smooth quality service is provided. Educates customers about federal and state requirements applicable to their business, and shares information about DMV services and benefits Virginia offers to the motor carrier industry. Staff may not be asked to perform all delineated tasks and responsibilities at all times but will be asked to perform the various duties based on current work demands and staffing availability.

Minimum Qualifications

*Ability to adhere to the agency's mission and vision.
*Ability to understand federal and state laws and regulations as pertaining to Motor Carrier services and vehicles.
*Ability to interpret and apply knowledge to support motor carrier customers.
*Strong oral and written communication skills.

*Ability to adapt to a changing work environment.
*Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

Additional Considerations

*High school diploma
*Customer service experience.
*Preferred Motor Carrier experience.
