Job Duties

The Senate of Virginia is seeking reliable, experienced administrative professionals to support
the administrative functions of the General Assembly during its 2025 legislative session that runs from January 8, 2025 through February 22, 2025.

The staff of the Senate Clerk’s Office is nonpartisan. Political neutrality is imperative so staff can maintain the confidence of all members of the legislature.

This is a non-benefited, temporary position.

Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate would have the ability to multi-task; work effectively with limited
supervision; and have demonstrable proficiency with current technology/telecommunications in
a workplace setting, particularly email and calendar applications. Success in this role requires
skill in office procedures, typing, exceptional communication, and the ability to interact
effectively with elected officials and the public in a demanding customer service environment.

Additional Considerations

Legal experience is a plus. Excellent telephone presence, proficiency with Google applications,
mail merges, and the ability to type 65+ WPM are also highly desirable skills.
