About the Job:
DJJ is currently seeking a qualified Population Program Manager to provide administrative and management support to the assigned Deputy Director. The Program Population Manager will assist in the development and monitoring of program planning and ensure the appropriate allocation of services and personnel in support of program objectives. This position will involve monitoring and managing the correctional center populations and case management decisions, as well as developing and maintaining classification to ensure treatment needs are prioritized for direct care youth. The manager will be responsible for all aspects of JCC Intake programming and ensuring effective youth placements within DJJ-secured facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify for this position, the successful incumbent will have extensive knowledge of current juvenile security and operations programs, policies, procedures, and practices including knowledge of standards and security techniques; safety/fire procedures and regulations; training requirements for staff; of security equipment and acceptable standards; personnel policy and practice; Considerable knowledge of custody operations and security issues in juvenile correctional settings and their interface with juvenile justice treatment programs. Knowledge of juvenile justice programs, policies, and procedures. Considerable work experience in case management and/or supervision is required. Demonstrated work experience with minimal supervision. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; to assist in developing programs; to assist in developing policies; to interpret data, policies, and procedures and make recommendations related to management and operational issues and to assist in resource deployment. Candidate must have the ability to perform project management, planning, and project implementation as well as the ability to evaluate program effectiveness and develop modifications as appropriate.

Additional Considerations

For additional consideration, the successful candidate will have progressive, working experience as a program manager or program implementation. Project or Program Management certification is desired.
