Job Duties

The Virginia Department of General Services, Office of Construction Management for Special Projects I seeking a Senior Project Manager to manage projects involving design, constructions, renovations & alterations to state facilities at the seat of government and other locations statewide; manage the delivery process of assigned projects including oversight of architects, engineers, construction managers, procurement and all administrative functions from conception through closeout of assigned projects.

This position may be eligible for up to 1 day of telework per week after 6 months of satisfactory performance.

Minimum Qualifications

Project management experience.
Significant working knowledge and experience in construction and building systems.
Significant working knowledge and experience managing large-scale projects for multiple facilities.
Experience working with Construction & Professional Services Manual for Agencies.
Experience with specifications and contract provisions.
Experience with budgeting for construction projects.
Experience working with building codes.
Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend a full set of plans and to draft clear and concise reports.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse audiences.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.

Additional Considerations

Working experience with Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code preferred.
Familiarity with Procurement policies of the Commonwealth of Virginia preferred.
Familiarity with Construction Professional Service Manual (CPSM) requirements preferred.
Certified Construction Management Certification preferred.
