Job Duties
Aspiring professionals in public policy, executive management, business, and related fields are invited to apply to our 2025 Internship Program at the Office of the Attorney General, based in Richmond, Virginia.
Each summer, the OAG sponsors an eight-week program, geared towards providing students with a unique, hands-on experience, and a realistic preview of work. The 2025 program runs from Monday, June 2 to Friday, July 25.
Program Highlights:
• Diverse Experiences: Immerse yourself in a well-rounded program that spans public service, outreach, and legal specialties, offering a nuanced perspective on the intersection of law and public affairs.
• Exclusive Engagements: Enjoy unique field trips, meetings with influential figures, and behind-the-scenes tours that will deepen your understanding of the intricacies of our justice system.
Location and Considerations:
• Location: This internship is an unpaid/volunteer position based in Richmond, Virginia. However, we will consider students for our regional offices on a case-by-case basis. Please note that this is an in-person internship, and remote work will be allowed only in special circumstances.
• Parking: Parking will be provided through VCU’s RamRide program.
Minimum Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program
• Basic understanding of fundamental business processes
• Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong analytical and research abilities.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check is required
Additional Considerations
• To be considered for the 2025 Summer Internship Program, students must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student, full or part-time. Students accepted into the internship program must be able to participate in the full eight-week program and exhibit a genuine interest in working for state government.
