Job Duties

The Licensed Practical Nurse cares for ill, injured or persons with disabilities in a psychiatric hospital/institution. This position may work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

The primary schedule for these roles is 5-day 8-hour work weeks. Candidates should expect to work Monday - Friday (or may select a weekend shift), the shifts will be 2:00PM - 11:30PM or 11:00PM - 7:30AM.

Job Duties:
Knowledge of normal anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, body mechanics, nursing procedures, growth and development, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation;
Skills in performing patient assessments, medication administration, tube feedings, sterile and non-sterile treatments, suctioning, tracheotomy care and catheterizations;
Ability to carry out nursing care procedures including the physical ability to turn, bend & lift helpless patients without restrictions; and
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing along with the ability to work overtime as needed.

Weekday Evenings $3.50
Weekday Nights $2.50
Weekend Days $3.00
Weekend Evenings $3.50
Weekend Nights $4.00

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

Monitoring/Assessing performance of self, other individuals, organizations to make improvements or take corrective action

Ability to communicate effectively to convey necessary information.

Using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Ability to watch gauges, dials or other indicators to make sure machine is working properly

Conducting tests and inspections of products, services or processes to evaluate quality or performance

Generating or adapting equipment and technology to serve user needs.

Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Virginia prior to beginning role.

Ability to work evening or night shift, is required.

Previous behavioral healthcare nursing experience
