Job Duties
For more than 35 years, the Virginia Lottery has been building an amazing organization committed to growth and giving back – and having fun while doing it. Operating entirely on revenue from game sales, rather than tax dollars, the Virginia Lottery generates more than $2.0 million per day for Virginia’s K-12 public schools. The Virginia Lottery also licenses and regulates casino gaming and mobile sports betting.
The Virginia Lottery, an independent state agency, is currently seeking an On-Premise Sales Consultant to grow, sell and market lottery products to social establishment retailers in the areas of Alexandria, Woodbridge, Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William and Manassas.
Duties include: establishing and growing on-premise retailer network (restaurants, bars, taverns, etc.) through cold-calling and recruitment activities; territory management; retailer training; Scratcher ordering utilizing a tablet; inventory management; merchandising; as well as implementing and monitoring retailer incentive and promotional programs. Performance is evaluated on retailer recruitment, sales achievement, and other important performance factors.
This position will be required to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis and occasional 10-hour shifts.
Minimum Qualifications
On-Premise sales experience preferred. Consumer packaged goods(CPG) experience preferred. Experience in and knowledge of implementing sales, marketing, and merchandising programs; inventory management; in-field or route sales experience in consumer products; training; customer relations and development; new product introduction; territory management and use of automated ordering devices or computers. The successful candidate must be willing to live within 50 miles of the geographic area’s business center.

The salary range for this position includes a 15% geographic differential.
An extensive amount of travel is required.
