Job Duties
The Deputy Clerk Grade 8 is responsible for automated and manual operational high-volume and fast-paced activities with frequent deadlines for one or more court divisions. Applicants must be committed to providing excellent customer service to a diverse population and possess a courteous, positive can-do attitude while handling stressful situations.
The successful candidate will perform data entry utilizing the Courts Case Management and Financial Accounting systems. Duties include but are not limited to preparing and reviewing court documents with accuracy and in accordance with appropriate policies and procedures, extensive filing, scanning, and sorting of court documents, processing payments and mail. Assisting the public, team members, judges, management, and other agencies in person and via telephone with the ability to communicate and respond professionally and effectively. Possess the ability to multitask with accuracy and speed, perform basic mathematics, organize work, set priorities, and identify and initiate work task with minimal supervision, frequently stand and/or sit for long periods of time while concentrating on repetitious or complex tasks with occasional walking, bending, and transferring items less than 25 pounds such as papers and files.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Qualified applicants must be highly organized, detail oriented, meet frequent deadlines, possess sound problem resolution skills and be able to work efficiently with a team and independently in the courtroom and office. Preferred applicants must be self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills and can work within an extremely fast-paced environment that includes a tremendous volume of paperwork, process, and procedure. The most competitive applicants will have considerable court, business or office related experience. Data-entry, front counter, telephone customer service and courtroom experience are preferred.

Applicant must maintain regular attendance and punctuality and assume additional responsibilities other than those primarily assigned to the position as required by management.
