Job Duties

Eastern State Hospital, located in Williamsburg, Virginia, was founded in 1773, with a well-intentional emphasis on community focused mental health care. This state of the art campus, situated on 500 acres, consists of two patient care buildings with 300 patients, and a highly skilled staff of over 900. Eastern State Hospital is part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) system, and is accredited by the Joint Commission.

ESH invites applications for the position of AOS III (Administrative Office Specialist III) in our Building & Grounds Department.

This position efficiently receives & processes work requests, Updates completed work orders, serves as TMS Database Administrator. Process & maintain employee timekeeping records, prepare & distribute monthly holiday & weekend schedules. Answer phones, maintain files, provide administrative support to B&G Supervisor, Compliance Coordinator, & Trade Supervisor. Compile & create data reports, complete purchase orders and requests, as well as maintain invoices. Update & submit work order status reports & coordinate with ESH staff regarding maintenance issues. This role, in the absence of the Supervisor, will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling of testing/inspections/repair work with contracted vendors.
