Job Duties
The Virginia Attorney General Major Crimes & Emerging Threats Section of the Virginia Attorney General’s Criminal Justice & Public Safety Division seeks a dedicated, dynamic, and experienced full time Financial Crimes Team Leader. The ideal candidate will possess an extensive and proven background in financial investigations and emerging financial crimes with an ability to lead a team of investigators and analysts.
Under the general direction of the Senior Assistant Attorney General/Chief, the Financial Crimes Team Leader is responsible for the management and operations of the Financial Crimes Section, focusing on the identification, selection, investigation, and prosecution of financial related crimes in the Commonwealth. The Financial Crimes Team Leader will also be responsible for the management and oversight of the Financial Crimes Investigators and Crime Analysists assigned to the team within the Major Crimes & Emerging Threats /Criminal Justice & Public Safety Division.
Minimum Qualifications
● Must possess a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
● Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing;
● Ability to multitask, keep calm under pressure and treat everyone with respect;
● Displays curiosity, a positive attitude, and flexibility
● Ability to follow all policies and procedures of the OAG .
● The Team Leader must a strong working knowledge of all financial crimes laws and statutes, with a particular emphasis on the Commonwealth financial crimes laws and related statutes
● The Team Leader must have experience in managing a diverse workforce and strong interpersonal communications skills.
● The Team Leader must have the ability to interact and advise OAG senior staff on ongoing investigations or issues surrounding financial crimes
● The Team Leader must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
● The Team Leader must manage multiple financial crimes related issues and resolve complex financial crimes issues
● The Team Leader must have an extensive background in the identification, selection, investigation and prosecution of criminal financial crimes investigations
● The Team Leader must have the communications skills to work with Federal, state and local prosecutors and law enforcement leaders
Additional Considerations
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Criminal Justice, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
