This is a non-exempt position without benefits, eligible to work up to approximately 28 hours per week on average and up to 1,450 hours annually (May 1 – April 30).

About the Work
The work is straightforward, make guests feel special.
Here is how Best Café Staff accomplish this as a team:
Set-up /Break down area(s) to managerial specifications for daily operations, restock and follow daily operational procedures
Anticipate and accommodate guest needs, respond to requests in a professional and polite manner
Serve fantastic fare to guests, replenishing stations, bussing tables, and ensure that guests’ needs are met; knowledge of menu and other food offerings
Support event-related activities
Ensure that areas are clean by following daily guidelines for sanitation and upkeep
Operating the cash register, bar, barista stations, and other café positions as needed
Gaining knowledge of the museum and providing guests with information
Minimum Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to demonstrate a professional demeanor with guests and other employees
Ability to read, comprehend and follow basic instructions and menus
Ability to operate the point-of-sale register system, including processing credit card and cash transactions
Ability to remain calm, professional and gracious in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance during shifts
Ability to be prompt and punctual to scheduled shifts, working various schedules
Ability to use fine and gross motor skills; finger and hand dexterity; reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear; and taste and smell
Ability to stand or walk for up to 10 hours
Ability to lift or move up to 50 pound
Additional Considerations
Prior food service or retail experience
Knowledge of beer, wine and food is also preferred
ServSafe, TIPS, or RSVP certifications
