Our growing team is seeking an IT Helpdesk Engineer (Systems Engineer I) to provide first line technical support to employees for hardware and software issues. This role also assists with maintenance of system networks and programs.

In this position, you will:
• Help employees with PC, printer, network, hardware, installation, and maintenance services
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems reported to the IT Helpdesk ticketing system by employees working onsite and remotely
• Support new employee onboarding, provide requested equipment and maintain data in asset management system
• Track ticket resolution for department reporting
• Back up files, resolve backup failures, maintain tape storage and perform restore tests
• Assist with department projects including new system implementations and configuration

Successful candidates will have:
• Two+ years of experience in service desk support, system administration or networking
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Experience administering users in Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange Enterprises
• Experience troubleshooting a variety of technical tools including PCs, mobile devices, and telecommunication equipment
• Knowledge of desktop operating systems, servers and office applications
• Knowledge of information security best practices and standards
• Ability to communicate technical issues to diverse audiences with varying technical knowledge
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests
• Knowledge of networking technologies including AD, server security, backup and recovery, and basic switching and routing
• Excellent customer service and relationship building skills

Work Environment:
This position will work onsite in our North Chesterfield, VA office five days a week until fully onboarded and then may transition to four days a week onsite. This role spends considerable time in a sitting, stationary position. Essential functions of this job include moving around the office to retrieve equipment files, operating a computer and phone, typing, and keying, bend/crawl on hands and knees to install equipment and reach over head to install equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and 70 pounds with assistance. Occasional night and weekend work required. Minimal travel required.
