About the Agency:

The Mission of the Virginia National Guard Commonwealth ChalleNGe Youth Academy is to intervene in the lives of 16-18 year old teenagers by providing the values, skills, education, and self-discipline needed to produce responsible, productive citizens, and to do so in a highly structured learning environment.

Purpose of Position:

Fiscal and Budget Management of the Virginia National Guard Youth Challenge Program.

Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and their application to fund accounting;

Ability to interpret financial and accounting reports;

Working knowledge and demonstrated ability to analyze, research, and reconcile financial data;

Demonstrated ability to apply and adapt established accounting methods to a variety of financial transactions and records;

Ability to prepare financial reports and statements;

Knowledge of state travel regulations and reimbursement allowances;

Working knowledge and ability to apply laws, regulations, and standards in a professional setting;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

Advanced experience using automated systems, personal computers and software to include Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word;

Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment;

Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record required.

Additional Considerations

Federal/State Cooperative Agreement experience strongly preferred.
