Job Duties

Provides support, in a staff capacity, by focusing on intermediate term program issues with agency wide application. Characteristic duties include: program development, planning, monitoring, analysis, grants management, recommending policies and procedures, program research, and evaluating changes in rules, regulations and legislative proposals for impact on service delivery. Thorough knowledge of program management, analytical principles and service integration is necessary. Responsibilities are carried out independently based on an outline or work plan developed by or approved by the supervisor.

The Safety Seat Check Station Program Coordinator is responsible for the maintenance of a robust network of seat check stations and providing occupant protection subject matter support to the public and local and state partners towards the reduction of vehicle-related injuries and fatalities for children. Duties include: program development, planning, monitoring, analysis, grants management, volunteer management, research and evaluation, recommending policies and procedures inclusive of changes in rules, regulations and legislative proposals for impact on service delivery, customer service, public health education, training and technical assistance.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of program development and planning, research and evaluation, analytical principles, quality control methods, and ability to provide technical assistance
• Experience conducting research and knowledge of the practice and principles of research, including development, implementation, data analysis, and dissemination; ability to interpret/implement data collection and reporting requirements
• Experience leading complex research or other related projects
• Ability to apply skills in report development, electronic data transfer and presentation visualizations; ability to effectively present information
• Skills in data management and committee leadership
• Possess skills to handle highly sensitive situations effectively; prepare technical documentation and write reports
• Possess excellent organizational skills, ability to set priorities and work independently

Additional Considerations

• Frequent travel may be required
• Prior experience in public health services preferred
