Job Duties
This position manages the inmate records office ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant policies and procedures. Ensures security of inmate criminal records. Coordinates daily count with the security department to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Manages daily inmate count, placement, transportation, and court appearances. Manages data entry and parole coordination. Researches and responds to inmate complaints/grievances and researches and provides information to the Attorney General’s Office. Coordinates service of process for civil and criminal cases against inmates. Supervises two full-time Program Support Specialists.
Minimum Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of records management. Demonstrated ability to organize work or supervise the work of others. Demonstrated ability to compose correspondence. Skill in computer systems and software to include Microsoft Word and Excel. Demonstrated ability to compose/revise, interpret and apply operating procedures and policies.
Additional Considerations
Considerable knowledge of records management, supervisory principles and of business English; Some knowledge of security practices within correctional facilities. Demonstrated ability to organize work and supervise staff, compose correspondence, and compose or revise and interpret and apply institutional operating procedures. Responsible experience in performing & supervising clerical and administrative office work. Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel. Knowledge of security practices within correctional facilities. Skill in Corrections Information System (CORIS).
