Job Duties
The Office of the Executive Secretary of the Supreme Court of Virginia is seeking applicants for the position of Accounting Manager with the Department of Fiscal Services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for the daily management of accounting functions, to include general accounting, accounts receivable, fixed assets and lease accounting, account reconciliation, financial reporting, and internal controls; supervising the accounting office staff to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of processes and compliance with state and federal regulations, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); as well as developing and updating internal policies and procedures. This position will also be involved in the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project.
Minimum Qualifications
Competitive candidates will have one or more years of general accounting management experience (preferably using Cardinal), considerable knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and practices, working knowledge of the Commonwealth Accounting Policies and Procedures (CAPP) manual, and experience in accounts receivable, fixed assets, lease accounting, general ledger, and the preparation of financial reports.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong skills in spreadsheet and word processing software applications, extracting financial data from automated systems, analyzing complex data, and developing reports. Applicant must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Additional Considerations
A degree in accounting is preferred. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is considered a plus.
