Job Duties:

The Information Technology Division (ITD) provides information technology services to functional programs of the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) and the Disability Services Agencies (DSA), which include the Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center (WWRC), Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired (DBVI), the Virginia Rehabilitation Center for the Blind and Vision Impaired (VRCBVI), the Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (VDDHH), and the Virginia Board for People with Disabilities (VBPD). These technology services are provided in support of the DSA’s strategic goals, objectives and initiatives and include Applications Development and Management, Engineering Technology and Infrastructure Support, and VITA and Cloud Technologies Support.

The DARS Information Technology Division is seeking an experienced technical team lead to manage and administer daily IT operations across the DSA agencies. This position works within a multi-team environment that collaborates daily with other IT teammates, agency staff, vendors, VITA and their associated solution providers, and faculty and students. Specifically, this position carries out the tasks integral to supporting the organizational mission and plays a key role in ensuring all infrastructure technology is appropriately configured, maintained, and optimized. The position requires a high degree of knowledge of Windows server and desktop, networking technologies and protocols, telecommunications, enterprise applications and systems, business process engineering, project management, and automation. The position requires close collaboration with other IT team members to support complex systems that span multiple technologies and disciplines.

This position is based out of the Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center campus in Fishersville, VA.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Supervisory skills leading a team managing IT infrastructure.
• Extensive experience managing server and network environments including, but not limited to Microsoft Server environments, TCP/IP, router, switch, and firewall configurations, LAN, WAN, Broadband, and Wireless technology, and physical wiring.
• Experience with Voice over IP systems and Mobile Device Management.
• Extensive customer service experience and skills written and oral communication skills; and time management skills.
• Knowledge of best practices relating to technology recommendation, procurement, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
• Proficient in the use of computer software applications such as MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and other productivity suites.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a non-technical manner.

Additional Considerations:

• Degree, certifications, equivalent experience and/or training in systems engineering,
information systems, systems administration, or related field
• Experience managing and supervising diverse and multi-disciplined teams.
• Experience working with Virginia IT Agency (VITA) and state Multisource Service
• Integrator (MSI) vendors.
• Knowledge of analog, Centrex, and other phone systems
