Job Duties
To manage the university’s efforts to improve the utilization of small, woman-owned and minority owned businesses and identify opportunities for unrepresented vendor types. To stay abreast of vendor opportunities at the university, market those opportunities to vendor to increase the university’s diversified pool of competition. To identify potential small business contractors; develop and promote information on technical assistance, training, business opportunities and bidding opportunities that are open to small business entities.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience and knowledge in government procurement, enhancing strategic relationships with diversified vendors and contract administration. Demonstrated communication skills using multiple medians including group presentations and public speaking including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse group and individuals. Ability to represent internally and externally with state officials and other representatives of high education. To be knowledgeable of e-procurement systems and other automated procurement systems as required to promote supplier multiplicity initiatives. Significant knowledge and experience with public procurement laws, policies, and procedures. Significant knowledge and experience with developing and conducting formal training classes, leading complex projects, and improving business processes related to supplier diversity initiatives. Significant knowledge and experience extracting data from relational databases, conducting data analysis, and writing complex reports. Experience in a governmental purchasing environment. Knowledge and experience with conducting research and analysis, using quantitative methods and writing work related reports. Knowledge and experience with spreadsheets, including Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Additional Considerations
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in supplier diversity organizing vendor outreach events such as vendor fairs and training sessions. Strong analytical, planning and negation abilities. Knowledge of state and contract laws, rules and regulations, must have 3-5 years of supervisory experience and must have a clear understanding of cultivating and development of supplier multiplicity programs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and experience with integration of ERP/e-procurement systems, and e-commerce. Knowledge and experience of various commodities in procurement. Knowledge of interpreting applicable federal and state laws and regulations and experience with quantitative and qualitative measures.
