Job Duties
This Deputy Clerk (grade 8) position is assigned operational responsibilities in a high volume, fast paced office with frequent deadlines. Individual must be committed to providing excellent customer service to a diverse population, responding to external and internal stakeholders and court users with a friendly, courteous, and positive can-do attitude and a desire to work in a team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties will include providing support in and out of the courtroom, ensuring that the court's instructions are executed, and all legal documents are prepared with accuracy and in accordance with appropriate policies and statutes. Assignments will include preparing court documents. Duties will also include handling a wide range of complex clerical and financial tasks, assessing, and receipting costs and fines, filing, scanning, data entry, problem solving, providing back-up for team members when needed and any other tasks assigned by management. File room duties include pulling files, shifting files, and returning them to the shelf upon conclusion of the case. The use of a step stool or step rolling ladder may be required at times. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma required or equivalent, some college preferred. Applicants must be able to work well in a team environment, possess an ability to pay attention to details, perform tasks with accuracy, possess the ability to follow up on matters as required, follow directions, and multitask. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. Discretion and integrity while working with highly sensitive and confidential matters are required.
Additional Considerations
Most competitive applicants will have legal knowledge/experience or equivalent education and will demonstrate proficiency in records management and personal computers/programs.
