Job Duties
This position is responsible for ensuring sound fiscal management and accountability through effective auditing, surplus management, and disposal of university assets. Key responsibilities include:
• Overseeing surplus, disposal, and auditing of university assets in compliance with the CAAP Manual and VSU policy.
• Maintaining accurate records of all surplused equipment and ensuring timely removal from the requesting department within 10 working days.
• Updating Banner within 5 working days of surplus processing.
• Ensuring asset disposal is conducted in accordance with CAAP Manual and VSU policy, with all surplus property sold or disposed of within one year of receipt.
• Keeping detailed records of all disposals.
• Conducting audits to ensure compliance and maintaining accurate asset records, including correct location updates in Banner and WASP.
This role plays a critical part in maintaining financial integrity and operational efficiency in asset management.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities and/or Competencies required to successfully perform the work:
Ability to lift boxes and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Demonstrated competencies to work with a diverse staff, to prioritize multiple assignments and to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
Proficiency using Banner, WASP and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
Additional Considerations
Bachelor's degree preferred. An equivalent combination of training and experience may substitute for a degree.
