Job Duties

The Department of Environmental Quality's Valley Regional Office (VRO) is seeking an assistant to the office manager to provide a wide variety of clerical assignments within the Regional Office. Duties will consist of but not limited to word processing, electronic content management (scanning, QA/QC, document destruction), and timely Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) support as the FOIA coordinator. Serves as Receptionist/Telephone Console Operator. Fleet, Procurement, and Facility management assistance.

Minimum Qualifications

Comprehensive knowledge of office management activities and administrative work related to the programs, policies, and procedures. Proficient written and verbal communications, and excellent Customer Service. Skilled in interpretation of written materials, anticipating management’s needs, setting priorities, and implementation of administrative rules. Considerable skill in office equipment and methods. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a changing environment. This position may require you to operate a state owned or leased vehicle. Therefore, a valid driver's license is required.

Additional Considerations

Notary license or ability to obtain; Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Knowledge of FOIA policy, guidelines and processes. Knowledge of Virginia State Procurement policies and procedures.
