Job Duties

Are you someone driven by technology? We are looking for individuals with a passion for data and evidence to support the use and continuous development of the VDOT business services. If you are driven by innovation and a passion for infrastructure, we want you to join our team to keep Virginia moving. As an IT Resource Manager, you will coordinate with the Commonwealth infrastructure provider to ensure Lynchburg District receives support and services needed to perform VDOT's business. Serve as primary contact for IT needs for district technology users with responsibility for District IT security management.

Core Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supervisory
  • Designated Emergency Operations
  • Technology Review and Procurement Coordination
  • Information Security Policy Implementation
  • VITA Partnership Support Coordination and Performance Monitoring
  • District Technology Budget Development and Management
  • Business Technology Solutions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to develop and execute short and long-term performance goals and to build and
    sustain customer relationships.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, budgeting principles and practices.
  • Ability to manage and share network files and folders, as well as troubleshoot basic IT
    issues and make referrals for assistance.
  • Advanced technical skills in the use of computer hardware and software to include MS
    Office Suite, advanced database skills, web development and navigation.
  • Experience applying knowledge of network applications and cyber security.
  • Ability to supervise and train staff.
  • Knowledge of technology and methodology of computer and network systems and software.
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate data, coordinate technology services and support for a large
    organization.

Additional Considerations

  • Experience preparing, reviewing and reconciling contract billing within contract or service
    level specifications.
  • A combination of training, experience, or education in Business Administration, Information
    Technology or related field desired.
  • Experience monitoring contract service delivery in an information technology environment
