Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Office of Enforcement and Compliance (OEC) – Law Enforcement Division (LED) Division is composed of four unique units which include Field Investigation, Field Enforcement, Training and Professional Standards Unit and Operations Support Unit.
LED is seeking an Intake and Analysis Supervisor to provide oversight of the Intake and Analysis (I&A) work center within the Operations Support Unit. The primary responsibility of this position includes supervision of I&A staff; LED related data analysis, collection and reporting; use of PowerBI data visualization; support for internal and external customers; maintaining I&A phone system and shared inboxes; LEO credentialing; procurement of LED uniforms, equipment, and supplies; administrators for external accounts for LED; FOIA requests; use of the agency’s secondary Virginia Criminal Information Network (VCIN) terminals; and work unit onboarding and offboarding of LED officers.
Specific duties include:
• Data collection, analysis and reporting (internal and to VSP)
• Conducting quantitative data analysis to assess performance
• Preparing and maintaining documentation for all data utilized
• Assisting with operational projects and initiatives
• Identifying process improvements when needed
• Reconciling review of unit credit cards
• Approving purchases
• Managing the daily activities of staff
• Guiding and motivating staff
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience supervising staff
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of office management and public administration practices
- Working skill in the use of office equipment and personal computer, including word processing and spreadsheet software
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality customer service in a fast-paced work environment
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures; communicate effectively in speech and in writing
- Ability to interpret data to reach logical conclusions and make recommendations
- Ability to work independently and deal courteously and tactfully with co-workers and the public
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
- Considerable knowledge of inventory control methods and procedures, performance management, process improvement principles
- Knowledge of data analysis and evaluation techniques; process improvement principles; managing non-cash assets, expenditures, and revenues
Additional Considerations
- Working knowledge of DMV programs and operations a plus
