Job Duties

Provides administrative and programmatic support to the Correctional Education in support of the unit and agency mission. Updates and maintains records, files, and automated databases. Prepares copies of relevant documentation, maintains files, emails documentation and answers telephone calls.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. Recent experience providing customer service and administrative support in a professional office setting. Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel to accomplish office support requirements. Recent experience using office equipment (i.e. computers, printers, copier and fax machine). Demonstrated ability to research and analyze data to reach logical conclusions and prepare routine reports. Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel to accomplish office support requirements. Demonstrated skill in inputting data into an automated database other than Microsoft Office. Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and complete tasks in a timely manner. Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information in a courteous manner. Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work with numerical data and to make mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately. Working knowledge of bookkeeping/accounting principles and practices. Demonstrated ability to prepare routine financial reports and statements. Demonstrated ability to set up and maintain automated and manual filing systems. Working knowledge of policies and procedures related to inmate records maintenance and processes. Demonstrated ability to create spreadsheets to track data.

Additional Considerations

Advanced knowledge in office administration or equivalent training or experience in a related field. Experience using Corrections Information System (CORIS, Offender Case Management System).
