Job Duties
The program coordinator is a professional who plans, coordinates, and performs administrative activities for the Office of Academic Effectiveness, including the Vice Provost for Academic Effectiveness. The program coordinator applies knowledge of federal and state laws, policies, rules, regulations to administer and coordinate the work of the Office of Academic Effectiveness. Serving as an organizational administrative expert, the program coordinator ensures that administrative activities are harmonized across the various staff of the Office and ensures that management has the information and resources needed to make management decisions. The program coordinator exercises sound judgement to influence the use of funds and staff, and improve the effectiveness and credibility of management.
Minimum Qualifications
• Knowledge of Southern Association of Schools and Colleges Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) standards, including reporting and processes
• Knowledge of Commonwealth of Virginia purchasing guidelines and procedures
• Considerable knowledge of Title III regulations and procedures
• Considerable knowledge of the management and utilization of Watermark/Taskstream
• Ability to coordinate and/or supervise diverse administrative functions
• Ability to manage various E&G budgets under the Office of Academic Effectiveness, using discretion to make sound decisions based on operating guidelines
• Ability to manage various grant-funded budgets under the Office of Academic Effectiveness, using discretion to make sound decisions based on operating guidelines
• Ability to manage and organize all travel arrangements for staff, faculty, consultants, and speakers
• Ability to use, manage, and monitor Colleague Financials and eVA systems to initiate, track and reconcile PR and PO status
• Ability to communicate effectively both in writing, such as special reports and speeches, and orally for presentations
• Ability to conduct research, prepare statistical reports and spreadsheets, prepare correspondence, reports and presentations, for internal and external audiences
Additional Considerations
• Experience working in a post-secondary institution in related area of assignment
• Experience with or ability to learn complex computerized enterprise resource planning systems, as well as different software applications
• Knowledge of webpage editing and updating
• Ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment
