Job Duties

This position is only open to current Virginia DMV employees.

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking a License and ID Tech Work Leader to join the Driver Licensing division. This position oversees daily operations and supports the staff by ensuring transaction accuracy, workflow efficiency, and compliance with DMV policies. This position manages financial reconciliation, handles escalated customer inquiries, monitors employee reporting and phone calls, and oversees complex tasks such as military extensions, special ID agreements, address exceptions, and juvenile/adult waivers.

Responsibilities Include
• Handling complex tasks, including address exceptions, license extensions, special IDs, veterans, juvenile certificates, adult waivers, and reissues
• Reconciling daily financial transactions, including cash, checks, and credit cards, ensuring accuracy and compliance with DMV standards.
• Addressing escalated customer inquiries and provide timely resolutions to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Training and supporting staff, ensuring they can handle complex transactions, such as DL1R's, DL1P's, and foreign reciprocity.
• Conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with DMV standards and resolve discrepancies.

Minimum Qualifications

• In-depth understanding of DMV policies and procedures related to licensing, IDs, and financial transactions
• Knowledge of Agency Risk Management and Internal Control Standards (ARMICS) compliance and financial auditing processes
• Proficiency in DMV systems and tools, including CMS and dashboard reporting
• Ability to manage complex transactions and escalated customer issues
• Ability to audit and reconcile financial and operational data while maintaining compliance with DMV policies
• Experience in providing customer service
• Skilled in workflow management and multitasking, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner
• Experience in training and monitoring employee performance, especially through reporting and phone systems

Additional Considerations

• Experience providing leadership and managing staff is preferred but not required
