Job Duties
The Hampton Roads District is seeking a Maintenance Manager TOC to provide maintenance oversight for all Transportation Operations Center (TOC) operating systems. This position serves as Facilities Maintenance Manager for the TOC Facility buildings and grounds, ensuring appropriate maintenance and repair activities are performed or contracted for performance. This position also coordinates emergency operations to include inclement weather and disaster response.
VDOT is an emergency response agency and this position may be designated to support emergency operations during certain situations. As such, you may occasionally be required to work an assignment that includes hours outside the normal work schedule including weekends and holidays. Not all designated employees are provided an emergency operations assignment.

Minimum Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of the following: computer hardware and software systems, telecommunications and network configuration; systems engineering processes and system analysis; electrical and electronic systems maintenance, design and troubleshooting; project management principles and practices related to electronic or information technology systems. Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions and implement recommendations to support organization goals. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with internal and external customers. Considerable experience developing effective work teams. Experience managing technical work groups. Skill in the use of computers and software applications.
Additional Considerations
Degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering, with coursework in computer science or information systems preferred; equivalent experience or training may substitute for degree. Knowledge of basic facilities maintenance and inventory practices. Progressively responsible experience in the management or supervision of electronic and information technology systems.
