Job Duties
This position is an hourly/wage position. Wage employees may not work more than 29 hours per work week on average over the course of a year and are limited to 1,500 hours within a 12 month period. No State benefits are provided.
VDOT is seeking a dynamic and detail oriented part-time Right of Way Specialist position to provide administrative and technical support for Central Office’s Right of Way Division. The selected candidate will assist the Business Administration Team of RW with technical and administrative support for the division. This will include preparing reports from various systems to assist management with workload/workflow analysis. It will also entail working closely with the Information Technology team.
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience with utilizing data bases to input and extract data.
• Skill in the use of computers and software applications to include Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
• Experience interpreting and applying procurement policies and the ability to work independently.
• Experience in technical writing and editing.
• Ability to negotiate and mediate to resolve conflicts.
• Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers in a team environment.
Additional Considerations
• Knowledge and experience of computer software programming.
• Proficient use of databases and spreadsheet applications to prepare reports and presentations.
• Skilled at working in an environment where attention to detail and analysis are highly valued.
• A combination of training, experience, or education in Business, Land Acquisition, Real Estate, or related field desired.
