Job Duties
Laundry.
Wash and dry residents clothes returning them promptly to the owners. Ensure that residents’ clothes are properly identified and report losses and damage of residents’ laundry. It is required to remove non-launderable items from the wash load. May be assigned to inventory and deliver linens. May be assigned to fold clothing protectors and maintain quota on units. May be assigned to label clothing and other items as well as maintaining donation closet.
Assigned Area/Equipment
Responsible for maintaining an assigned area of the facility in a clean and attractive appearance. Promote sanitary conditions to prevent the spread of infection. Ensure that the equipment is kept clean and in working order. Report any problems with equipment to Supervisor.
Laundry Records
Maintains appropriate records of residents clothing processed. Maintains levels of supplies utilized to effectively process the workload. Notify supervisor of deficiencies or needs.
Policies and Procedures
Perform all functions of job by adhering to department and facility policies and procedures.
Other duties
Perform other duties associated with laundry as assigned by Textile Care Supervisor. May be assigned to inventory and deliver daily linens as well as maintain Clean Linen Rooms.
May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Minimum Qualifications
Understanding of standard procedures used in laundry services for residents and in caring for clothes, linens, equipment and supplies
