Job Duties

Western State Hospital is seeking a full time Patient Care Investigator who will serve as the part of the facility’s investigation team to investigate alleged abuse/neglect, peer to peer and administrative reviews as assigned by the Director, including dLCV reported incidents; begin immediate investigations of reported abuse incidents received by the Director; ensure investigation can be completed in a timely fashion; maintain open dialogue/ open door policy with all investigators; will write and submit all investigations reports to the Director; and keep abreast of investigation’s progress/ issues.

Minimum Qualifications

- Combination of training/experience in patient investigation as a patient investigation specialist and experience with report writing
- Mandated investigation training by DBHDS and be on an approved list of investigators
- Good investigative techniques, organizational skills, writing and interviewing skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form with a variety of individuals from a variety of professional backgrounds
- Individual must have the ability to write, clearly, concisely and in an extremely organized manner
- High degree of independent initiative and decision-making
- Must be able to function independently, assess and plan an effective investigation
- Must possess moderate skill in the use of computers
