Job Duties

The Miller Academic Center (MAC) at VMI is accepting applications for the position of Office Manager. The MAC provides academic support programs at all academic levels, from at-risk students to high achievers, with an overall mission of facilitating cadets’ academic success and timely progress toward degree completion. The Center coordinates course-specific study group sessions and peer tutoring, need-specific learning skills programs, and academic advising support. The Center also administers Disabilities Services.

This is a full-time in-person Classified position with a generous benefits package.

Job Description:

The Office Manager
• Provides administrative support for day-to-day operations of the MAC and its programs.

• Manages MAC database systems and confidential records and routinely compiles information for administrative reports and updates, in collaboration with the Registrar and other units as required.

• Assists with training, management, and evaluation of the MAC’s peer tutors.

• Designs and produces training materials and other documents as needed in support of MAC programs.

• Processes purchasing, travel, and other fiscal paperwork in keeping with VMI Comptroller’s office guidelines.

• Maintains the MAC webpage and social media accounts.

• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director.

Minimum Qualifications

• Related experience in office setting
• Familiarity with Excel and Qualtrics
• Willingness to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends
• Able to handle multiple tasks at one time
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills

• Data collection experience and reporting
