Job Duties

The Deputy Clerk, Part-Time, (Grade 8) is assigned operational responsibilities in a high-volume, fast-paced office with frequent deadlines. This customer service position is responsible for answering Fairfax County General District Court Payment call center phone line responding to public inquiries concerning court policies on traffic cases. This position also responds to payment inquiries regarding fines and costs and other general questions across the General District Court.

The Traffic Division Call Center Customer Service Specialist is a Part-Time Deputy Clerk assigned with a wide range of technical and customer service responsibilities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to answering a dedicated public customer service phone line; processing traffic cases, including data entry, in accordance with court procedures and policies; take and verify credit card payment information via phone; alpha/numeric filing; interacting with court staff to accomplish tasks; and, assuming additional responsibilities, including a variety of clerical tasks, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum data entry speed of 30 w.p.m. and an excellent attendance record is required. The applicant must be customer-service oriented, detail oriented, able to follow through on tasks, and enjoy working in a fast-paced office. Must be a team player who assists others as needed and who promotes a positive office environment.

Additional Considerations

Work hours are Monday through Thursday 8:00AM – 2:00PM and Fridays 9:30AM – 1:30PM.
