Job Duties

• Responsible for specific projects and activities which may involve planning and
coordinating work, and analyzing and preparing reports, complex correspondence,
making recommendations and other duties associated with the successful conducting
and completion of major gifts, funding campaigns and securing special gifts.
• Performs administrative work, makes calls of confidential nature, crafts
correspondence, reports, presentations, proposals and other materials to major
individuals, corporate and foundations prospects, and donors, as appropriate.
• Develops, prepares, proofreads and/or composes correspondence requiring excellent
judgment and discretion, routinely edits materials for internal and external
communications. Drafts and updates current templates for improved donor retention efforts
such as acknowledgement letters, appeals and thank you letters.
• Acts with a high degree of independence as liaison with inside and outside contacts in
preparing meeting materials, minutes, campaign and project updates, and other
support functions.
• Assists in managing and updating Raiser’s Edge databases, records management and files.
• Receives information and requests from various organizations, both internal and
external to the University and determines the appropriate way to handle.
• Interacts with donors and prospects including calling and scheduling appointments for
events and projects asks, which can and often includes coordination with the Vice
President for Advancement, Assistant Vice President for Development, faculty, staff,
and other major donors.
• Efficient in word processing, data and spreadsheet software.
• Assists in developing and editing special projects, which includes; assisting in creating
campaign materials, committee rosters, setting up data files in computer for committee
members, tracking prospects & donors for solicitation letters, proposals, etc.
• Receives donor contact information in various forms and determines the appropriate
method of processing and updating Raiser’s Edge.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of four years of relevant administrative work experience.
• Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.
• Vast knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Programs, including Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, and other Data entry software.
• Typing and spelling competency with grammar and proofreading skills.
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience in successfully provide quality customer service.
• Demonstrated experience to successfully work independently, organize own work,
handle multiple demands efficiently, organize and prioritize workload, navigate
challenging situations in the workplace, and meet deadlines.

Additional Considerations

• Bachelor’s degree from and accredited institution
• Higher education experience
• Knowledge of Blackbaud software program such as Raiser’s Edge
