Job Duties
Currently offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus and 80 hours of front loaded annual leave time with a one-year written agreement for external candidates.
The primary purpose of the Medical Facilities Inspector for the Home Health and Hospice Team is to independently or as part of a team conducts inspections/surveys or reviews of health care facilities for the purpose of licensure and/or certification issuance, maintenance and/or renewal to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and promotion of quality health care practices. Conducts complaint investigations; compiles and evaluates information in determining degree of compliance; communicates findings orally and in writing; reviews and recommends approval, denial, or revisions to health care provider's plan; recommends plan of correction to supervisor when provider is not in compliance. May serve as information resource to health care providers. Position does require travel.
Minimum Qualifications
• Self-directed individual with specialized knowledge of health care systems and services, quality of care issues & health care administration
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear, concise, and legally defensible manner; ability to manage multiple assignments independently; to listen actively, share job knowledge, maintain professionalism, and follow through with requests
• Ability to independently assess individual patient/resident medical care plans and outcomes, the overall quality of facility care and services, and to interpret and apply complex state/federal regulations to the findings
• If working in LTC and/or Complaint unit, must obtain SMQT Certification within 12 months of hire date. All MFIs must obtain medical clearance for fit testing in accordance with OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard (29 CFR 1910.134) [Ref.2] regulations within 90 days of hire date and annually with exception to Complaint Unit.
Education Requirements:
• Per Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services requirements: MFIs responsible for surveying home health and hospice agencies must be a registered nurse (RN)

Experience working with State or Federal healthcare regulations.

If this position is designated as a mobile worker, this includes both working in the field and teleworking at an alternate location when not in the field or during an emergency closing. You may be required to periodically come into your assigned office to attend meetings or training
