About the Position:
The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire an Office Services Assistant in our Criminal Justice Information Services Division (CJIS) at State Police Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The successful candidate will accurately manage the intake, processing, and uploading of incoming and outgoing mail related to the Sex Offender Registry (SOR) using Perceptive Content; enter re-registration forms to ensure Sex Offenders comply with the laws that govern the Sex Offender and Crimes against Minors Registry; and validate and upload returned mail and digital images from law enforcement agencies into the database, ensuring critical information is accessible to law enforcement and the public.

Minimum Qualifications
•Working knowledge of general office practices and procedures; of filing principles and systems; of office equipment; and of standard English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
•Skill in the use of computers and Microsoft Office applications.
•Demonstrated ability to interpret policies and procedures; to follow written and oral instructions; to use automated equipment to perform data entry; to work independently and as a member of a team; to pay close attention to detail; and to communicate effectively in English orally and in writing.
•Must be eligible to become Virginia Criminal Information Network (VCIN) certified which requires either U.S. citizenship or a lawful resident of the United States and eligible for naturalization.
•High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
