Job Duties
Performs facilities maintenance on WMA's in Region 1 with emphasis on the Eastern Shore. When necessary, supervises a crew to manage and develop wildlife habitat, maintain or construct facilities and collect biological information. Maintains equipment and inventory of assigned equipment, prepares reports of activities, and maintains a log of work accomplishments. Guidance and direction are generally provided with objectives and timelines for completion dates. The methods for accomplishments are generally the employee's responsibility

Working knowledge of heavy equipment operation and maintenance; use of hand and power tools; and the ability to operate watercraft. Working knowledge of the fundamentals of building repair and maintenance. Working Knowledge of the principles and practice of prescribed fire. Ability to understand and apply wildlife regulations; to implement field tasks associated with wildlife management and research projects with minimal supervision and perform manual labor in varying climatic conditions. Ability to comprehend policy and to follow procedures and prepare written reports. Requires recordkeeping, strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Skill using a personal computer with related software. Ability to manage staff and contractors to complete assigned tasks.

Additional Considerations
A CDL license is preferred. A commercial pesticide applicators license is also preferred.
