Job Duties
Primary duties are supporting the Procurement Services leadership team as the lead compliance and training manager.
This position will ensure procurement learning experiences and training are engaging and effective instructional materials, including e-learning/virtual modules, workshops, case studies, and hands-on exercises that incorporate real-world scenarios and best practices in procurement.
The position effort is to maintain supplier diversity with small businesses by developing of SWaM Programs, increasing SWaM Outreach, and increasing SWaM awareness/goals. Conduct training workshops to end-users.
Create long-term plans and short-term objectives aimed at increasing SWaM participation in procurement opportunities. Conduct visits and tours of factories and distribution centers to evaluate potential partners' suitability, reliability, and efficiency.
Exercising independent judgment and initiative. Assist and advise University staff regarding procurement policies and procedures. Choose vendors based on costs and quality. Maintain communication between suppliers and the University.
Preparing reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to the procurement team and stakeholders. Serves as the eVA end-user to help support campus wide.
This position is eligible for one telework day a week.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities and/or Competencies required to successfully perform the work:
• Expertise: In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, strategies, and best practices; familiarity with procurement/instructional software and tools is a plus.
• Training Skills: Proven experience in designing and delivering effective training programs using various methods (in-person, virtual, blended).
• Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence stakeholders.
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with e-learning and/or virtual software and tools is often required.
Additional Considerations
Bachelor's degree or equivalent coursework in Business or Education preferred.
Master's degree or equivalent in Educational Administration preferred.
Certification or license in curriculum design or assessment.
