Job Duties

This position maintains an effective and efficient institutional warehouse operation ensuring an adequate inventory level of approved items in compliance with Department of Corrections (DOC) and institutional policy and procedure. Responsible for daily receipt and delivery of warehouse/commissary items. Maintains perpetual inventory system. Assists with physical inventory of warehouse items. Maintains safety and security and sanitation of warehouse operation. This position is the surplus and excess property coordinator for the facility. Ensures proper inspection and accurate documentation is recorded and maintained on items received, stocked and distributed. Ensures all staff and inmate workers are properly trained, supervised and monitored.

Minimum Qualifications

Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs and Outlook. Demonstrated skill in inventory control, storage, receiving and issuing goods. Demonstrated skill in records management and preparing workplace reports. Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend workplace policies and procedures. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written.

Additional Considerations

Extensive work experience in storeroom/warehouse operations (inventory managed environment). Demonstrated skill in inventory control, storage, receiving and issuing goods. Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend workplace policies and procedures. Demonstrated skill in records management and preparing workplace reports. Previous supervisory experience. Forklift Operator (certification desired). Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Previous experience in handling of hazardous materials.
